Homework #1 – Project Description Requirements
For your first homework, we’d like each of you to submit a first draft for a Project Description that we’ll be working on over the entire course and will be shown to the class. This draft will be DUE before the first class Wednesday, August 26th @ 5:00 pm Eastern.
Checklist for writing your First Draft:
- Your Project Description First Draft should be about an active problem that you are working on, such as grant proposals, research projects, marketing campaigns, budget requests, policy proposals, team projects, job talks, etc.
- Please try to stay within 50 to 75 words.
- At this point, all we want is a first draft (so don’t sweat it too much). Try not to spend more than 10-15 minutes writing your project description.
The whole purpose of the workshop is to improve on what you’ve got. We’ll help you take this First Draft and refine it using the ABT Framework. There will be no destructive criticism — it’s all about using the ABT Framework to strengthen the narrative core of what you want to communicate.
